Located in Carbon County, Beltzville State Park is 949 acres with a shoreline
of 19.8 miles. The park is located along the Pohopoco Creek with recreation
areas around the lake. The park offers wooded and open picnic areas, which
also include modern restrooms, drinking water, tables, parking areas,
and day use mooring areas for boats. Fishing in Beltzville Lake is a popular
sport. The lake is stocked with warm- and cold-water game fish and panfish.
The lake is also ideal for boating.

Water Gap National Recreation Area
Established by Congress on September 1, 1965, for public outdoor recreation
use and for the preservation of scenic, scientific, and historic resources.
The area is rich in both cultural and natural history. The ridges and
river valley contain streams, waterfalls, geologic features, a diversity
of plants and wildlife, and traces of past occupants and cultures. Popular
activities include canoing, rafting, fishing, picnicking and camping.

PPL's 'Lake Wallenpaupack and Hydroelectric power plant was completed
in 1926. Now a major tourism and outdoor recreation destination, the 5,700
acre Lake Wallenpaupack fills what was once a bowl-shaped valley, sixty
feet at its maximum. It's one of the largest manmade lakes in Pennsylvania.
